Terrence Barber heads Tenso Barterre Group, empowering boards, chief executives and policy leaders to generate groundbreaking results. Terrence and his teams of producers, financiers and thought leaders have imparted C-level strategy and business diplomacy acumen across food, health, biotech, clean/greentech, IT/telecom and education sectors in US, Japan, Europe and growth markets of China, Southeast Asia, Africa, Caribbean and Latin America. A Harvard MBA and top-ranking graduate of the HBS Agribusiness Program with a Harvard Honors AB in East Asian Studies and Economics, Terrence was born in Japan, raised in Tokyo, California and Bangkok and lived as a foreign exchange student in Germany. He has surpassed US diplomatic standards for Japanese language fluency and speaks German. Capacities in which he has led both entrepreneurial and complex organizations include:

  • CEO of a US medical foods & high performance racehorse feed supplements maker;
  • Governor's Representative and Managing Director of Asia based in Japan directing California's Offices of Trade and Investment in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul and Singapore, leading and advising educational, environmental and other high technology trade and investment initiatives throughout China and Asia.
  • Executive Director of U.S. Agricultural Trade Offices in Japan, promoted to the Senior Foreign Service by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, leading U.S. small/medium enterprises, states and local communities to forge alliances generating unprecedented growth in job-creating exports to America’s top consumer market;
  • Senior Director for Strategic Planning, Evaluation and Compliance by Clinton Presidential appointment, spearheading strategic operations for the U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service in Washington DC, driving USDA allocations of $100 million in market support, $5 billion in trade guaranties and diplomatic resources worldwide;
